Helen Lois Sears

Helen Lois Sears, 95 of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the Aledo Rehabilitation and Health Care in Aledo, Illinois. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly and Jersey Ridge Roads, Davenport. The family will greet friends from 9:30 am to the time of the service. Inurnment will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

Lois was born June 15, 1923 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Edwin and Alice (Rouse) Westphal. She married Glenn Earle Sears on January 20, 1944 in Boston, Massachusetts. She earned her Associates Degree in Interior Design, and loved being a homemaker for her family. She was a member of the Eastern Star, and also enjoyed bowling, gardening, her cat, birds, and her family and friends, especially spending time with her Grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include 2 daughters Tamara (Michael) Versluis, Maize, Kansas, KayDell Sears, East Moline, Illinois, 1 son Glenn (Marie) Drake Sears, Seneca, South Carolina, 6 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Glenn in 1994, her Parents, and 2 brothers, Blair and Gayle Westphal.

The family would like to thank all of Lois’ caregivers during her extended illness and stays in care facilities around the area.
