

Henry “Hank” Swangstu, 68 of Davenport died Saturday February 17, 2018 at his residence following a courageous battle with an extended illness. Celebration of life services will be held 11:00am Monday February 19, 2018 at the Lodge at Duck Creek Park, 3300 E. Locust Street, Davenport, Iowa.
Henry was born in 1949, the son of Gladys (Sordahl) and Tommy Swangstu in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. Henry was united in marriage to Trish Davidson on October 17, 1980 in Davenport, Iowa. Henry worked many years in the restaurant and hospitality industries, serving as regional manager for Applebee’s in Minnesota. During his career spanning over 40 years he worked in various restaurants, country clubs and hotels.
Henry enjoyed golfing, cooking, playing cards, reading, listening to music. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends. Henry was known to have a great sense of humor, so much so that sometimes one couldn’t tell if he was serious or telling one of his famous jokes.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, daughters Holly Swangstu of Tucson Arizona, Lori (Mike) Dodds of Davenport, Iowa, Sons Eric (Holly Hirzel) Swangstu of Seattle, Washington, Troy Swangstu, Ryan Swangstu both of Davenport and Leif Swangstu of Minneapolis, Minnesota, 1 sister Jo Ellen (Garry) Oliver of Wisconsin, 2 brothers Roger (Mertie) Swangstu of Wisconsin and Ray Swangstu of Ohio, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents, and Sister in Law Jo Ann Swangstu.
