Howard F. Mirfield, 78, of Davenport, passed away Friday, November 2, 2012 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, November 5, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the Runge Mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or School. Online condolences and tributes may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Howard was born on April 4, 1934 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Louis and Henrietta (Speth) Mirfield. He was united in marriage to Sharron Wuerzberger on June 25, 1955 in Davenport. He was a skilled union carpenter for 35 years and completed the last 10 years of his career working at St. Ambrose University. Howard was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was very actively involved and served faithfully. He was a remarkable man who loved his family and enjoyed traveling with his wife.Those left to honor his memory include: his loving wife of 57 years, Sheri; two daughters, Lori (Dave) Parker, Davenport and Julie Mirfield (Mike) Byron, IL; grandchildren, Dylan and Taylor; and great granddaughter, Ayva. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
