I am very sorry to hear of Hugh's passing. When my son David began Little League, we were lucky to have Hugh as our first team manager. Hugh was very cool. His pregame and post game talks were inspirational. Hugh encouraged me to get more involved and I started helping with the team. The next year I became the manager and Hugh and my friend Tom Irons helped. Without Hugh's encouragement and mentoring I would have been watching from the sidelines. He was my mentor and friend. May he Rest In Peace.

So sorry to hear of Hubert's passing. I remember his laugh, the many stories he would tell, and his kind heart. I will always remember the time we took that drive to see the eagles; the most eagles I have ever seen at once. I wish I could attend the service but cannot get off work due to staffing shortage. I will be there in spirit.

Uncle Hubert is the last of thr line of the Pethoud boys as they were known back in the day. Other than family visits I didn't get to see much of him and and my cousins. But they used my graduation from Arizona State University in 1979 as a reason for the boys to get together. Uncle Marvin, Uncle Hubert, and my dad all sitting in a restaurant in Tempe, Arizona talking like they did as kids. Not like they hadn't seen each other in a few years. You were a great Uncle to me, Thanks Unvle Hubert. Sorry I
cannot be there in person for the funeral but shall be there in spirit

My condolence to the entire family. I retired four years ago from the Blue Grass Police department. Hugh was on the city council when I was there. He was easy to talk with and he would listen to you if you had an issue. The one truly memorable time was sitting at a council meeting, when Hugh turned around at me and asked me if we really needed to carry a gun or could we just carry a bigger night stick. I don't think I ever gave a response.
