

Jack C. Ahlers, 71, of LeClaire passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at University Hospitals, Iowa City. A Celebration of Life gathering will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, at Davenport Elks Lodge, 4400 W. Central Park Ave. Online condolences can be left at www.rungemortuary.com.
Jack was born on Feb. 6, 1944, in Davenport, the son of Lowell and Ella (Fock) Ahlers Sr. He was united in marriage to Judy Neilson on Feb. 26, 1966, in Pleasant Valley. He was employed as a brick mason at Alcoa for 35 years, retiring in 1997. Jack was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He lived to help his friends and family, and was a member of LeClaire American Legion 347 and Quad-City Bass Club. He is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Jack (Erin) Jr., Pacific, Mo., and John (Brandi), Bettendorf; daughter, Jill (Curt) Schroeder, North Liberty, Iowa; mother, Ella, Bettendorf; grandchildren, Mackinzie, Benjamin, Miranda, Zachary, Nathan and Morgan Ahlers, and Madison, Gabbie, Carlie and Chase Schroeder; brother, Lowell (Barb) Jr., Bettendorf; sister, Sandy (Jim) Cale, Blue Grass; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Alexis Schroeder; and his father, Lowell Sr.
