Jack A. Hunter

Graveside services for Jack A. Hunter, 74, of Davenport, were held on Friday, July 28, 2015 at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. As was his request, cremation rites have been accorded. Mr. Hunter died on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Davenport. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Jack Aaron Hunter was born on December 1, 1941 in Columbus, MS, the son of Bill and Lillie (Crawford) Hunter. Following his graduation from high school he served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam Conflict. In 1998 he married Anita Smith. Jack had worked for many years as a mail sorter for the United States Postal Service retiring in 2004.Surviving members of the family include – his wife: Anita of Davenport; 3 Daughters: Jackie Hunter of Hartford, CT, Chadai Hunter of Davenport, IA, and Asia Hunter stationed in Korea with the U.S. Army; 3 Sons: Keenan Hunter of Davenport, IA, and Jeffery Hunter and Janfrey Hunter both of East Saint Louis, IL; a Sister: Leola Hawkins of CA; and a special Aunt Alice also of East St. Louis.Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister and 2 brothers.
