A celebration of her life will be Saturday, November 27 at noon at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 am until the service, at the mortuary. Jackie was born in Jackson, Mississippi on November 2, 1964. She was the daughter of Rufus and Corean (Harmon) Johnson. She married Benjamin May in April 1987 in Florida. He preceded her in death.
She was known as the baby whisperer of the family. She loved all her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. Jackie had a special bond with her great-great nephew, Jakiah Young and with her sister and caretaker, Jean Young. She was a loving and very outspoken person. After meeting her, it didn’t matter who you were or how long she knew you, your name never stayed the same, you would always have a special, unique name. She was loving to all. She loved watching tv; especially Law and Order and CSI and her favorite channel was LMN. She also did a lot of babysitting.
She is survived by her numerous nieces and nephews, brothers LC Manning, Canton, MS and Clinton Webster, Champaign, IL, sisters: Jean Young, Davenport, Lennie Manning, Champaign, IL, Ida King, Urbana, IL and Ernestine Murray, Rantoul, IL and a very special friend, Chris Houston.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Corean Manning, sister, Ann Harmon and brothers, Leon Webster, Napoleon Manning, Banard Manning and Willie Harmon.
