James Glen Braafhart, 72 of Davenport passed away, Friday, February 3, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, February 10, 2017 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial with military graveside rites by Blue Grass American Legion will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Jim was born April 24, 1944 in Davenport, a son of Benjamin, Jr. and Ruth (Ver Ploeg) Braafhart. He served with honor in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Jim retired from Alcoa as one of their most valued employees after forty-five plus years.
He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and a member of the Blue Grass American Legion.
Survivors include: two brothers, Don (Peggy) and Bill (Frances) Braafhart and a granddaughter, Lacee Kilgore. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly; sister, Barbara and his parents.
