

James D. “Cowboy” Corbett, 82, of Davenport passed away March 14, 2016. Following cremation, a Celebration of Life will be held from 11 am to 2 pm on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Davenport Elk’s Lodge, 4400 W. Central Park Avenue. There will be no visitation. “Cowboy” was born in Keytesville, MO, the son of James G. and Zola (Green) Corbett. He served in the US Marine Corps and married Betty Kottmann in 1956 in Davenport. He was employed at Alcoa for over thirty years, prior to his retirement in 1989.
His memberships included Philbrook Lodge #659, AF&AM, where he had served as past Worshipful Master, and Mohassan Grotto. He enjoyed rodeo bull-riding, going to the gambling boat, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and had driven stock cars at one time.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; children: Julie Circello, James A. (Chris Nolan) Corbett and Kelly (Hal) Brooker; grandchildren: Amanda (Steve) Shiltz, Tiffany Corbett, Courtney (Andrew) Moses, Connor Weinbeck and Anna Weinbeck; great grandchildren: Andrew Shiltz, Avery Moses and Brody Moses and sisters Julia Daily and Eva (Jim) Roth. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Alice Lain.
