

James W. Dengler, 72, of Davenport; passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Per his request, cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 11 am until 2 pm at Gunchies Restaurant, 2905 Telegraph Road in Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family. Jim was born August 30, 1942 in Davenport; the son of Walter and Loretta (Marxen) Dengler. He proudly served as a Navy Seebee.
He was united in marriage to Suzanne Wulf on June 11, 1966 in Davenport. He worked for JI Case for twenty years and then worked as a Time Study Engineer for Black Hawk Foundry, retiring in 2008.
He was a kind and gentle man who always had a smile. His greatest joy was watching his two grandchildren, Aidan and Helena play baseball at the Northwest Little League. He was an avid Hawkeye and Bears fan. He was a member of the Davenport Moose Lodge.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 49 years, Suzanne; daughter, Amy Puckett (Cary Brown), Davenport; his grandchildren, Aidan and Helena Puckett and very special friends, Diane and Jerry Sadler. His parents preceded him in death.
