

Memorial services to celebrate the life of James “Jim” Henneman, 59, of Davenport, IA will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church in Davenport. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Jim passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday, October 23, 2014 at his home. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.James Dennis Henneman was born in Davenport, IA, on January 29, 1955, the son of Richard and June (Farley) Henneman. Jim was a 1973 graduate of Davenport West High School then continued his education at Brown Technical Institute in Minneapolis, MN where he received his degree in Radio-Television Broadcasting. While working in radio, he met Laura Marie McKinley, and they were married in Monon, IN on October 6, 1979. Jim’s two sons were born shortly thereafter whom he loved dearly. James Jesse Henneman was born on March 27, 1983 in Minot, ND. Jacob Gene Henneman was born on August 17, 1986 in Davenport, IA. Jim was an active fisherman, hunter, lover of nature and was also an avid Iowa Hawkeyes sports fan. He loved watching and debating Hawkeye football and basketball in particular. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Davenport where he was currently serving as a Deacon. Jim will always be remembered for his quick-witted sense of humor, his conversational nature, his huge heart and his care for everyone he met.Survivors include Jim’s Parents: Dick and June Henneman of Davenport; his two Brothers Rick Henneman (Mary Jacobson) of Ames, IA and Jeff Henneman of Columbia, MD; his two Sons: James “Jesse” (Rebekah) Henneman and Jacob Henneman both of Davenport; his Grandson: Nile, and another grandchild due in December of this year.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
