James "Jim" H. Ewoldt

James (Jim) H. Ewoldt, 56, of DeWitt, IA, entered into eternal life in Heaven with Christ on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA. Jim passed away after brief battle with cancer. Following Jim’s wishes, he will be cremated and placed with his mother at Greenwood Cemetery, Muscatine, IA. Visitation will be Saturday, April 27th at 12:30 PM at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, with services at 2:30 PM. A Celebration of Jim’s Life and Hog Roast will be at Lady Di’s, 18109 270th St, Park View, IA, beginning at 6:00 PM.

James H. Ewoldt was born on February 23, 1957 to Minnie (Bair) and Harvey Ewoldt in Muscatine, IA. He owned and operated Ewoldt Masonry, working primarily in the Quad-Cities area. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, attending his children’s and grandchildren’s activities and events. He loved spending time and being with his family, his most coveted priority in his life.

Jim is survived by his children, who he loved and who will miss him greatly, Angela (Steve) Maddux, North Liberty, IA, Amber (Andy) Hovey, Bettendorf, IA, Heather (Josh) Easterly, Clarence, IA; sons, Zachary and Travis Ewoldt, DeWitt, IA, his ex-wife, Linda Carroll; five wonderful grandchildren he adored and cherished, Milo and Josselyn Easterly, Cody Maddux, and Gabrielle and Isabelle Hovey; siblings Donna (Winston) Rock, Low Moor, IA, Bonnie (Tom) Fritz, Cedar Rapids, IA, Connie (Mike) Fuller, Muscatine, IA.
