

James D. Martin, 44, of Davenport passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Cremation rites were accorded. A delayed Celebration of Life for James will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Runge Mortuary, 838 East Kimberly Road, Davenport, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family, in care of Jean Martin, in James’ name. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. James was born on September 9, 1971, Davenport, son of Melvin C. Martin, IN, and Jean K. Martin, Davenport. He graduated from West High School in 1990. He worked as an electrical apprentice for 15 years in Iowa and Nebraska. James completed the American Builders & Contractors (ABC) Apprenticeship 4-year Program in 2009. When he was younger, he enjoyed playing volleyball and softball. James enjoyed playing poker with his friends and loved watching football. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. James is survived by his mother, Jean K. Martin, Davenport; daughter, Falyn Martin, Davenport and brother, Jay (Nanci) Martin, Wood River, NE. Additional family members include maternal grandmother, Mardel Nichols Peters; Uncle Glen T. Nichols, both from Davenport; Aunt Joyce (Dave) Schwartzkopf, Demorest, GA; Cousins, Rene (John) Charles, Bettendorf and Terry (Peggy) Whitson, Davenport and nephews.
