Jim was born on January 12, 1940, in Davenport to Herbert O. and Agnes C. Neumann. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves and dedicated his life to serving his community as a firefighter.
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Ruthann; his children, Donald, Douglas, Wendy, Jeff, and Nancy; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and his special dogs, Lady, Tasha, and Allie.
Jim found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved playing games, woodworking, traveling, and especially fishing at the family cabin.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Weerts Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with an additional visitation one hour prior, at Grace Lutheran Church in Davenport.
