James "Jim" A. Shore, 53, of Andalusia, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Unity Point Hospital, Rock Island. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday January 4, 2022 at Trinity Cathedral Church, Davenport. A funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Cremation will follow the service. Jim was born on March 12, 1968 in Clinton, IA to Clifford and Shirley (Collier) Shore. He graduated from Savanna High School 1987. James was united in marriage to Catherine Gardner on August 8, 2016 in Vancouver, WA. Jim was employed by XPO Logistics as a truck driver from 2015 until present time.
Jim was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan and Chicago Bears fan. He was a proud gun owner. Jim was a handyman. He loved cooking on the grill and was a master of smoking meat. His family enjoyed being invited to a cookout. Jim would lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He had an intuition of knowing when his family needed him. He was a wealth of knowledge and gave to people before taking care of himself.
Jim is survived by his wife Catherine "Catt"; Father, Clifford Shore of Rock Island, IL; children, Vanessa (Brannon) Gomes of WA, Ricky Gardner-Curry of TX, Bridget Callaway of WA; siblings Michael Shore, of Freeport, IL, Jayne (Steve) Boore, of Davenport, IA, Brian (Kathy) Shore, of Geneseo, IL, Stephen (Leigh) Shore, of North Bend, OR, Karen (Tony) Lawless, of Andalusia, IL; a host of extended family members including several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley, sister-in-law, Mary Kate Shore and son Sean Callaway.
