Jane Ylst

Jane was born on June 20, 1931, in Lancaster County, PA, to parents Harry Burkey Sr. and Mary Hagen Burkey. She was a woman with strong convictions that was not afraid to speak her mind and stand firm in what she believed, which made her both a force and a comfort for those that knew her. Even if there were differences in opinion, she would still make sure those around her knew she was thankful for what they do, and would always end the night with an “I love you.”

In her free time, Jane liked to crochet, watch gameshows, play slots at the casino, look for cardinals out of the window, or read, specifically about the Amish. She was in the loving care of her daughter, Donna, before moving to the Vistas.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Donna (Jerry) Phelps; her grandchildren, Rodney Phelps, Johannes “Jon” (Jami) Phelps, Matthew (Vanessa) Phelps, Andrew (Natalia) Phelps, Kathryn Phelps, Charles (April) Gundaker, Jason (Libbi) Gundaker, Christopher (Darlin Leea) Crha, and Shaun Crha; and her great-grandchildren, Sierra (Matt), Connor, Madison, Leightyn, Ronan, Nicholas, Isabella, Taliana, Caleb, Emersyn, Nolan, Matthew, Christopher Jr., Dakota (La Deja), Blake, Bethany, Dallas, Braydon, and Devin.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Burkey Sr. and Mary Hagen Burkey; her children, Charles Gundaker and Vicki Crha; and her brothers and sisters.

Because her family is spread out across the country, there will be no formal service held. The family will gather as they are able to share their loving thoughts and memories of her.
