It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jan Clark, a cherished member of our community who was called home to the Lord on December 9 at the age of 70. Jan passed away peacefully at her home in Davenport, Iowa surrounded by her loving family and close friends.
Born in Altamont, Missouri on May 14, 1955, to Stanley and Catherine Wolfe, Jan lived a life rooted in life’s simple pleasures. Her kind heart and generous gifts were a blessing to anyone she considered a friend. She was a devoted grandma to Cameron (3 years) and Colin (11 months), where she found great joy in watching them grow and teaching her daughter, Cathy, to be a mother.
Jan was widely known for her wise words and dedication to those she loved. She frequently said, “My home is my peaceful castle,” and, “When you find a true friend, hold onto them tight because they are hard to find.” Her warmth created a welcoming home where friends and family always felt cared for.
Jan was a loving wife to Mark for 46 years, wonderful mother to Neil and Cathy, beloved daughter, caring sister to Bill, Bob, and Stan, and best friend to Carol. The memory of her kindness and generosity will continue to shape the lives of those she loved for generations to come.
Jan is survived by her husband, Mark; her children, Neil and Cathy; her siblings, Bob and Stan; her grandsons, Cameron and Colin; sister-in-laws, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly. She joins beloved family in Heaven: her mother, Catherine; father, Stanley; and brother, Bill.
A funeral service and visitation celebrating her life will be held at Runge Mortuary in Davenport, Iowa. She will be laid to rest in Osborn, Missouri.
Though our hearts ache with her absence, we are content knowing she is now resting peacefully in the arms of her Savior. Her spirit lives on in life’s simple pleasures we enjoy every day.
