

Services to honor his memory will be Saturday, July 18, 2026, at The Runge Mortuary in Davenport. Visitation is from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, service to start at 2:00 pm. Cremation rites will follow. Memorials may be made to the Tegtmeier family.
Jason was born in Davenport on September 9, 1970, to Herbert L. and Janet (Wilson) Tegtmeier. He met the love of his life, Leslea Capps at Living Hope Community Church where he was a member. They married in 2020 at the River City Church in Moline, formerly known as New Hope Church. He worked in the shipping and receiving department at QC Freight Service and previously worked for PR Masonry. Jason was also a previous member of the New Liberty Fire Department.
Always one who loved the outdoors, he especially loved fishing, magnet fishing and kayaking. Jason had a big personality with a great sense of humor, always the life of the party. His favorite quote is “It happens”. His greatest joy was spending time with his boys, Friday nights steak and shrimp with Leslea, and anything related to Bigfoot.
Those left to honor his memory include his beloved wife, Leslea; sons: Nathan (Miranda Holland) Goldberg, Wellman, IA, Dakota (Jessica) Tegtmeier, New Liberty, IA, Dalton (Evelyn) Tegtmeier, Blue Grass and Drake Tegtmeier, Walcott; grandson, Raymond Bradley Tegtmeier, his father, Herbert, Davenport; siblings: Vickie (Ron) Saltzmen, Steven Tegtmeier, Brian (Michele) Tegtmeier, Karen (Jesse) Ramos, Eric Tegtmeier, Beth (Daryl) Herr, Aaron (Meaghan) Tegtmeier and Paula (Jason) Fetes along with a host of nieces and nephews.
His mother, Janet, and brother, Michael preceded him in death.
