Jean A. Kephart

Jean A. Kephart, 84, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Manor Care-Utica Ridge in Davenport. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Friday from noon until 2:00 pm at the mortuary. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Jean was born April 21, 1930 in Muscatine County, the daughter of Paul and Margaret (Mulvihill) Maylone. She was united in marriage to Lester Kephart on November 21, 1953; he preceded her in death.

She enjoyed sewing, planting, gardening, Saturdays at Walmart, spending time with her family, especially at holiday time. Her family was her greatest joy.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons: Tom and Mike Essex, Steve (Janet) Kephart, James (Laurie) Kephart, Rick Kephart and Larry (Amy) Kephart; daughters: Linda (Jack) Bierman, Patty Kephart (Bill Dale) Teresa (Tim) Vaughn and Candy (Charles) Kephart; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, son, Dennis and a grandson, Justin.
