
Jeanette Joann Beckmann, 90, of Davenport, passed away at the Kahl Home on Saturday, February 21, 2026. Services to honor her memory will be later in March, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport. Her final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may go to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport.
Jeanette was born in Davenport on July 27, 1935, the daughter of Charles D. and Myrtle (Olson) Moeller and grew up on the family farm in New Liberty, IA. She started her education in a one-room country school and went on to graduate from Bennett High School in 1953, where she was a proud member of their first girls basketball team. After graduating, she went to Iowa State Teachers College (now UNI) where she received her teaching certificate. She married her high school sweetheart, Edward Beckmann, on June 9, 1956, in Davenport. They raised their family in Milan, IL and later moved to Winter Springs, FL.
Jeanette taught 3rd grade for the Tipton and Bennett school districts for a few years before starting her family. She taught Sunday school and served as a willing volunteer for Rock Island Immanuel Lutheran School and Church. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Orlando, FL, and later Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport, IA. She enjoyed sewing, especially, making costumes and clothes for her grandchildren. She was a devoted caregiver to her daughter, Lois, and dearly loved spending time with her family and many friends.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Joyce (Paul) Taylor, Coupeville, WA; Marcia (Mike) Jamison, Columbus Junction, IA and Paul (Diana) Beckmann, Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Lindsey (Skip) Parrish, Erica (Julien) Taylor-Touaux, Russell, Rachel, Zachary Taylor, Samantha, Caitlin and Lauren Jamison and Bridget and Peter Beckmann; great granddaughter, Selene Parrish, brothers LeRoy (Rosie) Moeller, New Liberty, IA and Wesley (Sandy) Moeller, Donahue, IA and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ed (2000), daughter Lois Blair (2023) and sister, Doris Pierre.
