Jeffery Garland Plies

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 27, 2019 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm at Lady Di’s, Park View, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

Jeff was born February 6, 1959 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Garland and Joyce (Bartell) Plies.

He enjoyed motorcycles, horses, golfing, racing motorcross in his younger years, and playing pool. He had a knack for excelling at everything he did. Jeff was a happy go lucky, outgoing person who will be deeply missed. He never met a stranger and everyone loved him. But above all Jeff adored his family and loved the time he spent with them. He will be remembered for the kind and loving father, son, grandfather and brother that he was.

He was in the trucking industry for over thirty-five years and currently working at N&M Transfer. Jeff was also an avid Kansas City Chiefs, Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs fan.

He was formerly married to Sally Enoch on May 18, 1979, they later divorced and she preceded him in death. He then married Dawn Mutum in October 2004, they too also divorced.

Those left to honor his memory include his children: Jeffery (Tara) Plies, Tiffany Postell, Nicholas (Sasha) Plies, and Emma Plies; grandchildren: Kourtney (Josh Stearns) Postell, Kylee Postell, Parker Friedrich, Tyler Plies, Arrianna Plies, Brylan Allison, Skyla Patton, Alex and Ben Plies, and Baylen Allison; great grandchildren: Blaine, Oliver, and Eloise Stearns; his mother, Joyce; and siblings: Tony (Debbie) Plies, Tammy (Ken) Jacobs, and Todd Plies.

His father and grandparents preceded him in death.
