

Jeffrey Paul, 66, of LeClaire, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 31st, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, February 6th at First Presbyterian Church, 1702 Iowa St., Davenport. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 4-8:00 pm at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Hope Lodge Iowa City, the National Marrow Donor Program or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Jeff was born in 1951 in Davenport, Iowa to Walter and Margaret Paul. On September 7, 1974, he married Jane Zabel in Des Moines. Jeff graduated from Iowa State University and returned home where he operated the family farm. He then earned his J.D. from the University of Iowa and practiced law in the Quad Cities at Lane & Waterman. He enjoyed spending his time with his family, caring for the farm, yard and garden, playing golf and pickleball in Florida, and cheering on the Cyclones and Cardinals. He served others as a church elder and on several philanthropic boards.
Survivors include his wife Jane; daughter Annie (Brian) Gibson; sons A.J. Paul and Charlie (Carly) Paul; grandchildren Christopher and Abby Gibson; sister Martha (Gregory) Gabrilson; a niece Kate Andersen and nephew Hans Andersen. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tom.
Jeff was a two-time recipient of a stem cell transplant and he strongly encouraged those he knew to become registered with the National Marrow Donor Program at BeTheMatch.org.
