Jerod Wayne Beatty

Jerod “Jerry” W. Beatty, 55, of Davenport, Iowa passed away Monday, March 25, 2024 at his home. Graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 2 pm at the National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois; those wishing to attend should arrive at Weerts Funeral Home at 1:30 pm to go in procession to the cemetery.

Jerry was born on May 14, 1968 in Iowa City, Iowa to Phil and Nadine Eichhorn. Following high school, Jerry joined the United States Army was part of the 1st Infantry Division. He was stationed in Germany for 2 years and served during Desert Storm; Jerry was a two time Bronze Star recipient. Jerry enjoyed going fishing with his daughter, Morgan and going for rides in his Mustang.

Those left to honor his memory are his daughter Morgan Beatty; father Phil (Karen) Eichhorn; brothers Rusty Beatty and Jason (Elizabeth) Eichhorn; sister Jackie (Dave) Moeller; nephews Shane (Andrea) Beatty and Lee (Jenny) Brandt; and niece Kaela (Matt) Voss. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandmother Louise Horton.
