Joan Margaret Hill

Joan M. Hill. 81, of Davenport, formerly of Wagoner, OK & San Leandro, CA, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in Davenport, IA. Joan will be cremated followed by a gathering of family & friends to be held Wednesday July 11th from 10:30-12:30pm, at CASI. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to CASI.

Joan was born August 31, 1930 in Oakland, CA to Jack & Corinne (Coveney) Talbot. She was united in marriage to Harry Hill on May 5, 1950 in Reno, NV. Joan worked several jobs over the years, but the job she cherished most was taking care of her family.

Joan had volunteered for local election boards serving as a foreman, loved to go to CASI where she played Canasta and Bingo, enjoyed knitting, puzzle books, feeding the birds and squirrels, and reading. Her family was a priority; she was never happier than when she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family & friends.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years Harry Hill, Davenport; daughters; Beverly Knoblau, Bettendorf, Jennifer Kaikinger, Coeur d’Alene, ID, Kristi (Mike) Dude, Concord, CA, Candy Hill, Davenport; sons; Edwin (Michele) Hill, Lower Lake, CA & Geoffrey Hill, Davenport; loving grandchildren Lloyd Mumford, Karri Belvel, Jessica Hayes, Todd Wainwright, Matthew Fleischman, Patrick Fleischman, Edwin Hill, Kelli Knoblau-Hehlke, Kimberly Hill, Madrick Hill, & Corinne;13.5 great grandchildren; cousins Shelly (Bill) Coglizer, Robin (Justin) Beremy and a sister in law, Shirley Osborn.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, loving Uncle and Aunts Donald Coveney, Lucille Weir, and Melba Coveney, cousin Lucinda Henderson, and son in law Michael Knoblau.
