Joann Klemme

JoAnn Klemme, 75, of Davenport, died Friday, April 29, 2011 at Trinity at Terrace Park in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 10:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church in Davenport. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family. JoAnn was born in Davenport on September 7, 1935, the daughter of Elmer R. and Anna (Mohr) Klemme.

She was a Registered Nurse for many years having worked at the Davenport Medical Center; Handicapped Development Center, where she was Director of Nursing; Ridgecrest and the Kahl Home from where she retired from.

In her younger years, JoAnn was a professional singer and also loved dancing, knitting and crocheting items for her grandchildren and was an avid horse lover. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Michelle (Stephen) Jessen, Davenport and grandchildren: Christopher, Andreas and Katherine Jessen.

Her parents and brothers, Robert and Edgar and a sister in infancy, Emma preceded her in death.
