Joanne D Van Acker

Joanne left us way too soon in this life. A simple and casual Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on January 15th from 4-6pm at Runge Mortuary & Crematory in Davenport, IA. Memorials may be made to her son, Brian Van Acker. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com

Joanne was born on February 20th, 1957 in Davenport, IA to Ralph Ehlers and Norma Brus. Joanne graduated in 1975 from Davenport West High School. She was married in that same year to Gary Van Acker on January 18th, she also gave birth to their son, Brian, on April 10th. 1975.

Joanne worked at Farm & Fleet of Davenport, IA in the small engines department until retiring in 2021 after a span of 32 years of service.

Joanne had a few passions she loved indulging in. She enjoyed crocheting, doing word search puzzles, listening to her favorite musician Neil Diamond, watching a good murder / mystery, supporting her favorite NFL team the Green Bay Packers, and loved anything Penguin related.

Joanne was survived by Gary Van Acker; son, Brian Van Acker and his wife, Regina; grandchildren, Sierra Brooke, Taylor Dawn, Seth Mykel, and Bailey Jade; great granddaughter, Shamara Sivels; sister, Mary; and brothers, Paul and Tony.

Joanne was preceded in death by her father, Ralph; stepmother, Rosemary; brother, Mike; sister-in-law, Sharon; and sister, Barb.
