Joel R. Henson

Joel Henson, 53, of Blue Grass, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, March 9, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 14, 2013 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Joel was born on August 30, 1959 in Davenport, a son of Troy and Carolyn (Peters) Henson. On November 14, 1980 he married Carol Broderson in Davenport. He graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1977. He was first employed by American Air Filter, later at Brammer Manufacturing for almost 20 years and was currently employed at HON Industries as a Production Supervisor. His hobbies included playing poker, boating, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters, whose visits always made his day. He was also a master carpenter, mechanic and could fix anything. Survivors include son, Eric and fiancée, Rachel; daughter, Elise and boyfriend, Andrew; granddaughters, Ava and Lylah; his mother, Carolyn; brother, Scott; and former wife, Carol. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
