

John was born on May 23, 1946, to Gerald and June (Hartman) Berry in Davenport, Iowa. He received a bachelor’s degree in art from St. Ambrose University. John worked as a display artist alongside his father at Hi-Ross Displays and he continued business until his retirement.
John spent his life dedicated to art for both work and pleasure. Whether pinstriping, building custom model cars, or sitting at a panel jam with his buddies at a show, he built many lasting relationships along the way.
John is survived by his loving partner, Linda (Moorman) Shippey, his children, Stacy (Rod) Manley, Brandy (Clint) Robbins, Jolene Berry (David Wakole), and Jonell Armetta (Nate Wilson). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrew Manley, Kirsten Manley, Shon Thurman, Marcus Thurman (Cameron Ancona), Alex Robbins, Macayla Robbins, Evelyn Armetta, Aisly Armetta, Kyler Cooley-Wakole and his great-granddaughter Isla Williams.
He is preceded by his father, mother and friend Russ Schlueter.
