John Ewald Kipp

September 4, 1954March 12, 2016

John Ewald Kipp, 61, of Bettendorf, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Genesis Medical Center – West Campus in Davenport. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.rungemortuary.com.

John was born on September 4, 1954 in Davenport, IA, the son of John and Darlene (Riepe) Kipp. He was united in marriage to Sherrill Stebens on November 27, 1982 in Davenport.

John served in the United States Navy and was a past State President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and made many friends through that organization. He was a family man who enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, golfing and riding his Harley along with being a passionate Bears, Yankees and Iowa Hawkeyes fan.

Survivors include his wife, Sherrill; children, Sunni Kipp and JJ Kipp; grandchildren, William Austin Diedrich, Alexis Diedrich, Kaylee Kipp, Kadin Kipp and Madalyn Kipp; siblings, Debbie Reynolds, Terry (Katie) Kipp and Mark (Teresa) Kipp; several nieces and nephews and mother-in-law, Betty Stebens.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Shannon Diedrich.
