John was not only a great guy, he was a great long time neighbor. In their golden years, John and my dad had many good times together fishing and visiting in Dad’s sunroom. We were always impressed by your Dad’s gardens. He had quite the green thumb! Sending our heartfelt condolences. Jollie and Dan Holden

Rick, Viki and family,
Your family are in our thoughts and prays as you remember your father’s life. I still remember all the project stories you shared with me over work breaks that were built and rebuilt in the family shop. ...Greg Herbers

We have known John for many years, but got to know him really well as a friend, advisor confidant, gardening consultant, fellow Veteran, and all-around Good Guy after we moved next door to him 25 years ago. One could not have a better neighbor! He was always willing to help when he saw a need. He shared his abundant harvest willingly every summer and fall. When Duane needed an extra hand in the shop, he was there. When planting suggestions were required, there was no better expert.
Having his diversified background and knowledge was a real asset when a question arose about how to get something accomplished. Our Country Acres Neighborhood will always have a void in the future without John’s wisdom.
Happy hour won’t be the same either.

John was a great man. I remember he and Bert well from being in the Galloway family for a few years in the early 80's. I am happy knowing they are together again. The family has my condolences.

I consider John to be a longtime and dear friend! I lived in Country Acres in my young adult life and spent time with Rick and Ron during our motorcycle days. I worked part time for City of Eldridge when the city conducted garbage pickup in early 70s. John was my boss and guided me to seek employment with Central Scott Telephone Company in 72. That was an excellent recommendation as I was employed there for 38 years which provided good income and retirement for my family, my wife, and myself.
As I get older I look forward to again meeting John and all those that have been granted Eternal Life with our Lord Jesus in Heaven! See you soon, Brother!
