Joseph E. Durham, 70, of Davenport, Iowa; passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at his home. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11am at Weerts Funeral Home; visitation will be from 10am until time of service. Memorials in Joe’s memory may be made to Place of Refuge Ministries.
Joe was born on April 24, 1951 in Arkansas to Rubin and Iona Durham. Joe worked as a security guard for many years at various stores around the Quad Cities, International Harvester, Detention Center, and Best Buy. He lived a simple, but wonderful life. Joe loved to spend time out in his garden, making delicious BBQ sauce, and cooking.
Joe had a listening ear for anyone who came by, and he would share anything he had including his home. He was nice to everyone some say he could have created the slogan “In a world where you can be anything….be kind.”
Those left to honor his memory are his son, Michael “Billy” Durham; godson and goddaughter Patrick Sr and Andreica Morgan; his forever friends Latresia Griffin-Thompson and Carolyn Burrage-Thomas; and a huge host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
