Joseph "Joe" Montenguise

Joe was born in Des Moines, Iowa, to Ann and Joe Montenguise on February 16, 1963. Joe graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in Bettendorf, Iowa, and went on to own several local restaurants.

He married the love of his life and best friend Brenda in April 1981 and they had two sons Justin and Joshua. Joe was always up for an adventure. He enjoyed hunting, tailgating, boating with family and friends, and cruising the highway and less known roads on his Victory motorcycle with Brenda. Joe also coached and played hockey with his boys. In the past 3 years, Joe loved hanging out with his grandchildren and teaching them how to say "Papa."

Joe is survived by Brenda, sons Justin (Libby) and Josh (finacee Kris Shanley) all from Bettendorf, Iowa; two grandsons Maximo and Luca; parents Joe and Ann Montenguise of Colona, Illinois; sisters Kellie (Doug) Gould and Tracy Montenguise (Duke Burell) of Ankeny, Iowa; niece Korrie Gould and nephews Nathan Gould and Nicholas Burrell all from Ankeny, Iowa.

A celebration of life "Cheers not Tears" will be on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. The family will greet friends 11:00 am until 12:30 pm, at which time there will be a time of sharing & remembering.

Memorials may be made to the family to establish a fund to support families with multiple myeloma.
