Josephine "Jody" Lois Rostenbach

Josephine “Jody” Rostenbach, 92, of Moline, formerly of Davenport passed away Sunday April 2, 2017 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline, IL, under the care of Unity Point Hospice. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Friday, April 7, 2017 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. There will be a visitation 5:00 – 7:00 pm Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association. On-line condolences may be shared at www.rungemortuary.com. Jody was born in Fruitland, IA on September 25, 1924. In order to attend high school she moved to Davenport. She joined the war effort working at the Rock Island Arsenal. She also worked at the Iowana Ice Cream Store at 29th and Brady where she met the love of her life and her husband of 65 years, Wayne K. Rostenbach. Wayne preceded her in death in 2010. Jody was an accomplished woman, facing challenges head on. As her children grew up, she worked at ML Parker Store as a personal shopper. Wayne and Jody enjoyed ballroom & square dancing. With young daughters she helped to co-found a 4-H Club in the Northeast Davenport. Jody was an awesome cook, especially during the holidays when she baked for the entire family. Jody organized family reunions for years bringing her extended family together. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart and she was devoted to all of them. Jody enjoyed playing Pac Man with her grandchildren; she never lost a game, she was the queen. Survivors include: son, Larry (Denise) Rostenbach, Davenport; daughters, Barb Runge, Davenport, Pat Ernst (Chuck) Miller, Bettendorf, & Darcy (Lee Hambright) Rostenbach, Moline; 19 Grandchildren Hank (Heidi) Runge, Davenport, Jenny (Jason) Coppinger, Davenport, Kim Ernst (Mike) Ryan, Blaine, MN, Michael Ernst, Dublin, OH, Kate Miller, Chicago, IL, Matt (Sara) Miller, Bettendorf, Chad (Su Lin) Rostenbach, Brighton, CO, Curt (Heather) Rostenbach, Jamestown, ND, Cary Rostenbach, Apple Valley, MN, Will Rhodes, Davenport IA, Brian Rhodes, Brighton, Colorado, Michael (Lindsay)Hambright, Lewisville, TX, Chris (Kylie) Hambright, East Moline, IL, Sara (Kenneth) Chumbley, Moline, IL, Denny (Katri) Stone, Apple Valley, MN, Nic (Rachel Schurke) Mirfield, Des Moines, IA, Jenni (Luke) Serra, Moline, IL and Lindsay (Thad) Miller, Milan; 24 great grandchildren with two more due any day; 1 great great grandchild; brother William Martin, Spartanburg, SC, and sister Dayle Martin, Hampton, IA.
