Josephine Louise Jones

Josephine Louise Jones, 78, of Bettendorf, died Saturday, March 17, 2012 at her home. A funeral mass will be held, Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 10:30 am at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Davenport. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at The Runge Mortuary with a rosary at 7:00 pm, and also Wednesday from 10:00 am until the service at the church. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Josephine was born December 13, 1933 in Jeffersonville, IN, the daughter of Frank and Clara (Wulf) Braun.

She worked for International Harvester in East Moline for twenty-eight years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and a member of the UAW Local #1304. Josephine loved traveling, antiques and growing flowers.

Those left to honor her memory include her companion of over thirty years, Frank D. Clifton; children: Jane (David) Lamb, Moline; Jennifer (Todd) Spear, Peru, IL; Nile (Carey) Jones, Davenport; James Jones, Muscatine; Jon Jones, East Moline; Jeff (Linda) Jones, San Antonio, TX; Frank’s children: Judy (Jeff) Edwards, Rock Island; Greg Clifton, East Moline and Steve Clifton, Kirksville, MO; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; siblings: Tom Braun, Plano, TX; Rosie (Ray) DaVilla, Houston, TX; Nancy (Dick) Skrine, Shepherdsville, KY; Frank (Leola) Braun Jr., Jeffersonville, IN and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents, daughter-in-law and special friend, Jackie Jones, Frank’s daughter, Theresa Clifton, 3 sisters, one brother and a granddaughter, Monica Ryan preceded her in death.
