Joyce Etta Johnson

Joyce Etta Johnson, 89, of Bettendorf, passed away on July 11, 2026 at The Fountains Bettendorf. Visitation will be Friday, July 17, from 5-7 pm at Weerts Funeral Home. A memorial service to honor her memory will be held on Saturday, July 18, at 10 am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Bettendorf, Iowa. Inurnment will be a Davenport Memorial Park following the service. Memorials may be made to Scott County Humane Society or Tunnel to Towers.

Joyce was born on June 19, 1937 to Harry and Hattie Koopmann in Davenport, Iowa. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jon “Jack” Johnson, on February 14, 1959. In 1967, Jack and Joyce started Johnson H2O and they retired in 2014. They enjoyed going to various Jazz Festivals and ballroom dancing together. She was a long-time member of Redeemer Lutheran Church; she was a member of their altar guild and helped with Meals on Wheels.

In her free time, Joyce loved to sew, garden, and read. She could be found tending to her flowers and vegetables, or sat reading from her stack of books from the library. She was incredibly supportive of her family and all the activities they participated in.

Those left to honor her memory are her two sons Joel (Diane Frascello) Johnson and Jay (Pam) Johnson; two grandchildren Tyler (Sara) Johnson and Kelcy Hamilton; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
