Joyce V. Wilder

Joyce Vivian Wilder, 77, of Davenport, Iowa went to her Heavenly home Thursday, April 9, 2015 peacefully in her sleep while visiting in California. Funeral services will be held at Runge Mortuary 838 E Kimberly Road Davenport, Iowa 52807 Saturday, April 18, 2015 at noon. Lunch will be served at St. Mark Lutheran Church at 2:30 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to visit Friday, April 17, 2015 from 5-8 pm at Runge Mortuary. The burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the “Warren and Joyce Wilder College Fund” for Warren and Joyce’s grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joyce was born February 20, 1938 in Wilton, IA to Harold and Helen (McFarland) Stock. She was united in marriage to Warren N. Wilder on November 8, 1958 in Davenport, Iowa. Joyce was a devoted wife and mother. She was also an office worker while committing to fostering numerous children over the years.

Joyce would welcome anyone with open arms whenever you needed a hug, shoulder to lean on, or a helping hand. She was always there to give a smile, a kind word, or an honest compliment. She had ears that truly listened although she loved to talk. She was also very involved with her church. She enjoyed sewing/embroidery, playing cards, reading, putting puzzles together, traveling to visit family, but most of all being surrounded by those who loved her.

Joyce will forever be remembered by her loving brother Eric (Nancy) Stock, dedicated sister Ruth (Art) Ingalls, beloved children, Rodney (Deanna) & Kevin Wilder, treasured grandchildren Linda, Austin & Dylan Wilder, Lindsay & Theresa O’Keefe, Teri Smith & Marshall Brown, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Warren, daughter Linda, her parents: Harold and Helen Stock, sister Rose and brother, Steven.
