Judy was born on March 23, 1943 in Ryan, IA to Lynn and Alice Pulver. Judy was raised in Swea City, Iowa where she met the love of her life, Fred D. Seylar. They were united in marriage on March 21, 1960 in Elkton, MD. The first three years of their marriage, Judy traveled with Fred while he served in the Navy. After Fred’s discharge from the military, Fred and Judy settled in the Quad Cities where they have lived the last 60 years.
Faith and family were at the center of Judy’s life. She was the proud mother of four children, Fred, Rob, Shari, and Amy, and the cherished grandmother to seven grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Her home was a gathering place of warmth and love for Sunday dinners and Holiday meals.
Judy and Fred visited all 50 states where they hiked and bird watched together. In the early mornings you could find her reading scripture and praying while watching the sunrise out of a window in her upstairs stairwell. She faithfully served her family, friends, and those in need throughout her life. Judy was active at Adventure Christian Community church. Her last wish was that all of her family would come to know Jesus personally.
Those left to honor her memory include her loving husband of almost 65 years, Fred; 3 children, Fred L. (Kelly) , Rob, and Amy ( Dave) ; 7 grandchildren, Beau, Alicia (Brad), Tyler, Ali (Paul), Sarah (Daniel), Katie, Sam; 8 great-grandchildren; Brady, Kobe, Ellie, Presley, Milana, Louie, Abel, Libby; 3 sisters, Elsie, Linda, and Twila (Ernie), and many other family members.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter, Shari L. Boehnke.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Constantino and all of his nurses at Unity Point Infusion Center, MD Anderson Medical Center, Houston, TX, Special nurses Unity Point, Rock Island, and Unity Point Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.
