Julia E Smith

Julia E. Smith, 60, of Bettendorf, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at University of Iowa Hospitals. Per her wishes she will be cremated. A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Weerts Funeral Home. Private inurnment will take place at Oakdale Memorial Gardens. Julia was born on June 3, 1965, in Harvey, IL to Frank and Donna (Mott) Dick. She was united in marriage to Lester Smith on September 10, 1992, in Davenport,IA. For over 30 years, Julia worked in the nursing field at various nursing homes throughout the Quad Cities, including 25 years at the Masonic Home and then Bettendorf Healthcare.

To say Julia enjoyed fishing is an understatement, she was known by many as the “Bass Lady’. She also enjoyed spending time at the shooting range. She was an excellent cook and was known for her delicious pies.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Lester; children, William (Heather) Smith, Shawn Smith, Daniel Dick, Micah (Melissa) Smith and Robert (Brandi) Smith; Stepdaughters, Brandi Padavich, Brittney Goldsberry, and Jessica Mizer; 25 plus grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jimmy and Joey Dick.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents.
