

Graveside services for Juliet M. Hardy, 87, of Bettendorf, formerly of Mt. Joy, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2011 at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. The family will greet friends from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary in Davenport. Those wishing to attend the graveside services at the cemetery should gather at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Mrs. Hardy passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Senior Star in Davenport. Juliet Marie Hardy was born in Chicago, IL on August 26, 1924, the daughter of Daniel and Julia (Cahalane) Hurley. On October 23, 1948, she married William L. Hardy. He preceded her in death in 1989. Mrs. Hardy worked as a bookkeeper for Petersen’s and Value RX, both in Davenport. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and was a former volunteer at Bettendorf Children’s Museum. She is survived by two Daughters: Mary (David) Anderson of Bettendorf, IA, Linda (Mike) McGovern of Albuquerque, NM; two Sons: Gary (Katie) Hardy of Geneseo, IL, John Hardy of Davenport, IA; a Sister: Eleanor Flanagan of South Holland, IL; seven Grandchildren: Kevin Anderson of Bettendorf, IA, Lauren Anderson Bettendorf, IA, Michael (Sherrie) Hardy of Bettendorf, IA, Lindsey (Jamison) Weisser of Geneseo, IL, Travis Lay of Albuquerque, NM, Ryan Hardy of New York City, NY, Jason (Corrin) Hardy of Chicago, IL; six Great-grandchildren: Tyler, Avery, Parker Weisser, Kellie, Laurie, and Carter Hardy. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret. Memorials may be directed to the Iowa Alzheimer’s Association.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers and staff of the Memory Care unit at Senior Star. Their compassion and care was greatly appreciated.
