June R. Thomsen, 89, of Calamus, IA died Friday, May 10, 2013 at home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, May 13, 2013 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. June was born December 19, 1923 in Davenport, the daughter of August and Mable (Simpkins) Avey. She married Tex Thomsen on September 19, 1942 in Kahoka, MO.
She retired as a Production Controller Estimator and Funding from Rock Island Arsenal in 1993.
She enjoyed her family and working with her computer.
Survivors include a daughter, Jan (Stephen) Grimm, Calamus; sons, Dale Thomsen, Calamus and Bruce (Rita) Thomsen, Portsmouth, VA; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tex; two sons, David and William; and a daughter, Cheryl Ann.
