

Karen L. Boeckmann, 68, of Bettendorf, passed away September 14, 2010 at Genesis East Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, September 17, 2010 from 5-8 PM at the mortuary. Karen was born on June 24, 1942 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Stanley and Amanda “Theo” (Bingham) Olson. She married Lawrence Boeckmann on December 23, 1961 in Rock Island, IL.
She operated an in-home day care impacting the lives of dozens of children over 35 years. She was the Director of Women’s Ministries at Westside Assembly of God Church, 3908 W. River Drive. She was a lover of all animals caring for many dogs, cats and birds. In earlier years, she enjoyed many arts and crafts, including stained glass, candle-making, sewing and latch hook. In later years, she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren. She also traveled often with her sisters and brothers-in-law. She enjoyed making blankets and playing Dominoes with friends. She was a fantastic and loving Grandmother.
Those left to honor her memory are her husband, Lawrence “Larry”; sons, Brad (Cam Ha) Boeckmann and Brian Boeckmann; grandson, Nolan; and granddaughter, Teagan; and sisters, Marilyn Carr, Rochester, MN and Ruth Ann Bozeman, New Boston, IL.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Gerald and Lorrence Olson.
