Karen A. Johnson

The family will greet friends on Wednesday September 2, 2026, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday, September 3, 2026, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Burial & military honors will follow at Davenport Memorial Park. Karen was born on December 5, 1943, in Davenport, IA to Henry & Arline (Frye) Hartz. Karen served in the US Marines from 1962 to 1964. She was united in marriage to George Johnson on December 10, 1977, in Davenport. He preceded her in death 2013.

Karen had been employed as a legal secretary with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for many years. She worked with the Iowa State Racing and Gaming commission for over 10 years while operating Karen’s Korner Window Treatments in Davenport, which she operated 30 years prior to her retirement. Karen was one of the founding members of the Brain Injury Alliance local chapter. She was very giving person with a strong commitment to helping others.

Survivors include 2 sons Harry (Nicole) Graham and Quinton Graham Davenport, IA; stepchildren Marc (Linda) Johnson Little Rock, AR, Eric Johnson & Kathy (Paul) Bernard both of St. Peters, FL.; granddaughter Jacqueline (Graham) Harris Charleston, SC; step grandchildren Christopher (Jes Richards) Johnson, Erin (Steven) Linderman, Sara Johnson, Erica (Matt) Hilts, and Paul Benard Jr.; great grandchildren Ava, Danity Harris, Scarlett & Edison Hilts, Ada Linderman, & Taran Richards Johnson; and brother Steve (Connie) Hartz Blue Grass, IA.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents Henry Hatrz and Arline Hartz Martin.
