Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2025, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church Davenport. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the church. There will be a meal served, and burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the church. Please share condolences with the family at www.rungemortuary.com.
Kathleen was born July 6, 1929, in Keystone, IA to Victor and Esther (Buch) Kruckenberg. She was united in marriage to Robert M. Baker on May 1, 1949, in Davenport, IA. Robert preceded her in death in 2021. Kathleen had worked as a secretary at Oscar Mayer for several years until Robert and her decided to start their family and she stayed home to take care of her family. Earlier in her life she was a capable bowler and golfer, loved to play cards especially with her sisters.
Survivors include daughter Barb (Dennis) Buckley, Davenport, IA; son Bruce Baker, Cherokee, IA; grandchildren Nick (Gina) Swanson, Jennifer (Justin) Kupperschmidt, Dan (Charlene Taylor) Swanson, & Mark (Krista Buckley) Schilling; great grandchildren Ryan, Josh, Braxton Tines, Austin Swanson, Liam & Mila Schilling; sisters Elaine Albertsen, Marilyn Luebbe, Dorothy Luebbe, & Diana Baetke.
Kathleen was Preceded by her parents, Husband, brother Leon, and sister Georgie Coontz.
