

Kathleen "Kathy" E. McNaught,77, left our world Sunday, June 16th, after storied life lived in service, kindness, and humor. Per her wishes, there will be no public service. Kathleen Elizabeth Foley was born July 28, 1946 to Richard Thomas and Frances Glory (Altfilisch) Foley in Davenport, Iowa. A graduate of Assumption High School's class of 1964, she went on to Davenport Barber College, receiving her diploma & licensure in 1976. While running her Davenport barbershop, she made time to offer her skills to seniors at local nursing homes.
In 1979, Kathy married her match in Philip A. McNaught. Together, they raised their daughters to be strong, smart, and kind, and welcomed the birth of each grandchild with open hearts and sheer joy.
Coming from a family of service, her daughters grown, she found her vocation counselling homeless kids at Valley Shelter Homes while working towards her foster care licensing.
Over many years, she and Phil fostered 53 children, shared a great love for the outdoors, and rescued countless stray pets.
Kathy collected art, grew happy plants, and enjoyed true crime. Ever adventurous, in earlier years Kathy travelled with her girls and practiced Kuk Sool Won.
She is survived by her beloved dog, Waldo ; daughters, Theresa Norman, Tina (Steve) Wagner, Brittany McNaught, Desiree Border; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Patrick (Rev. Mari Thorkelson) Foley, Nan(Patrick) Crossen, Elizabeth (Eric) Swanson, William Foley, and Diane (Shumate) Foley; her many nieces nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband Phil, daughter Krista (McNaught) Cuppy, and brother, Thomas Foley.
The family wishes to offer special gratitude to our angel, Carol, for her guidance, generosity, and care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Scott County.
