Kind, funny, gentle, caring, courageous, loyal, trustworthy, loving, fair, dependable, honest and peaceful describe our mother, grandmother and wife, Kathryn Jo Riecke.
Kathryn Jo Kress was born in Clarence, Iowa on July 22, 1944 to a wonderful family, Joseph and LaVerna Kress, with three brothers: Ronnie, Donnie and Joey Kress, all of whom preceded her in death.
Kathryn was the first woman at Alcoa to ever be presented with the Zero-Defects Award. She married Roy Carl Riecke December 6th, 1969. She was active in the Wilton Presbyterian Church as Choir Director and Bible School teacher. She was the most wonderful person you could meet. She loved her family and took tremendous care of them all. Her tolerance and dependability were never-ending. Her dedication exceeded what we thought possible.
The travesty of losing her will be remembered daily. The joy of knowing her was the greatest accomplishment ever known to her family. Kathy Riecke is a continuous beacon of light that will shine on in angelic form. She has returned to her natural state; a heavenly angel.
Those left to honor her memory include her beloved husband, Roy; adoring children: Shawn (Wendi) Riecke; Courtney Riecke; Talia (Erik) Adams and Joseph Riecke; grandchildren, her true loves: Benjamin, Kathryn and Olivia Riecke and Christian and Luca Adams.
Words cannot explain the love she had for her family. Due to her wishes, there will be no funeral services. Your prayers are greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
