

Kay Fahrenkrug, 86, of Davenport Iowa passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2025. A private family service will be held. She will be laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.
Kay was born on June 5, 1939, in Davenport, Iowa to Edward and Betty (Doering) Karstens. Kay built a life rooted in family, devotion, and unwavering love. She was married to the love of her life, Daryl Fahrenkrug for 66 years. They shared a partnership defined by resilience and laughter. Together, they raised a family that became Kay’s greatest pride and purpose. She leaves behind a living legacy, one she carefully and intentionally built. Kay kept the Fahrenkrug family close, connected, and grounded. She encouraged thoughtful conversation. Her love for her family ran deep and was felt in countless quiet sacrifices and steady presence. Kay’s impact will live on through the generations she nurtured and so fiercely protected. She will be remembered for her strength, loyalty and the way she loved, full, honestly and without apology.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband; children, Joe (Karen) Fahrenkrug, Sandra (Tim) Flaherty, Pamela DaSilva (David), Jim (Pam) Fahrenkrug, Tom (Theresa) Fahrenkrug; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grand children and sister, Sandra Kane.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, Tiffany Fahrenkrug, Bradly Fahrenkrug and cousin, Sue Burmahl.
