Keith Benjamin, 79, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014, after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia, at the Good Samaritan Home in Davenport. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 10:30 am at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Davenport. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the Runge Mortuary and one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date in Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo, IA.

Keith was born March 19, 1934 in Waterloo, IA, the son of Dwight and Marjorie (Blackman) Benjamin. He was united in marriage to Karen F. Kauffman on June 7, 1958 in Davenport. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
He taught accounting at North Scott High School for thirty-six years prior to his retirement. Additionally, Keith ran the clock for all sporting events.
He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church where he served on the church council for many years. He spent summers with his family on Lake Ada in Pine River, MN and also served on the Lake Ada Board in his retirement years. Keith was a life-long member of the National Education Association.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Karen, Davenport; his children: Kirk (Lynn) Benjamin, St. Louis, MO; Kathryn Duncan ( Chris Jones), LeClaire, IA; Kevin (Lisa) Benjamin, Geneseo, IL and Kyle (Nancie) Benjamin, Walker, MN; grandchildren: Bryce, Brennan and Keagan Benjamin; Ada Duncan; Emma, Dale, Lucas, Kathryn and Megan Benjamin and brothers: Blair, Ariz., and Neil, Waterloo, IA. His parents preceded him in death.
