Keith Corwin Kleppe

Keith K. “Sonny” Kleppe, 65, of Davenport, IA, died on Friday, January 21, 2011 at his home with his family and dog after a short battle with lung cancer. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour to services and there will be a luncheon following. Keith was born on October 12, 1945 in Davenport, IA, the son of the late Norman and Bernice Kleppe. He was in the Army with the Honest John 4th Division 20 ART B BTRY and enjoyed being with his old Army Buddies.

He was self-employed with Kleppe’s Construction and also worked at French and Hecht. He later worked as the Director of Security and Maintenance at Marycrest University and also worked at Short Hills Country Club.

Keith will be remembered as a caring, giving person who always openly accepted others. He will be missed by his friends. His favorite activities were spending time with his family and his dogs, Ashley, Summer, and Autumn who are now with him in heaven. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing with old friends and watching football. He loved the Minnesota Vikings.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Kelly (Billy) Carter and Kory (Juli) Kleppe; his ex-wife, Kathleen Kleppe; his sisters, Judy (Bob) Paulsen and Katherine Allchin; his five grandsons; nieces and nephews; and girl friend, Karen Schroder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice and Norman Kleppe, and sister, Norma Jean Kleppe.
