Funeral services will be 10:00AM Monday, August 22, 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church Davenport. Visitation will be from 3:00PM – 7:00PM Sunday at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. Ken was born May 21, 1947 in Davenport to Arnold & Alice (Rohwer) Keppy. He was united in marriage to Lois Shaw on June 1, 1968 in Davenport at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Ken graduated from Iowa State in 1972 with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Returning home he went into practice with Dr. William Abel. Over the years, the Abel-Keppy Animal Hospital and clinics grew to as many as five and were currently operating three. Ken’s clinics brought great pleasure to him and were as much a hobby as a career, but when given the chance he loved to get away with his family to their home in Florida. Movies were another past time of his which often allowed him to spend time with the grandchildren.

Ken was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church Davenport, was a past director of the Scott County Humane Society, a past member of the board for CASI where he served as chair for several years, and was a 28 year member on the Scott County Board of Health where he had also served as the chair for several years.

Survivors include his wife Lois Keppy, Bettendorf; daughter Amanda Keppy, Bettendorf; sons Peter Keppy, Davenport, Nicholas Keppy, Davenport, Kristofor (Angie) Keppy, Bettendorf; grandchildren Preston, Joseph, Evelyn, Logan, and Nicolette; Brothers Ronald (Sharalan) Keppy, Davenport, Robert (Maureen) Keppy, Forest Lake, MN, Steve (Sharon) Keppy, Tomahawk, WI; Step mother Jeanette Keppy, Eldridge; Step sister Pat (Bob) Reese; and step brother Gary (Connie) Rohwer.
