

Kenneth Reid, 86, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services at the mortuary.
Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
Kenneth was born on December 7, 1929 in Maquoketa, IA, the son of Lloyd and Florence (Wood) Reid. He was employed by the Samuels Jewelry Company for a period of 25 years and retired in 1989.
Kenneth was a Past President of the North Park Merchants Association and a charter member of the North Scott Rotary Club. He was also a Past President of the Paxton, IL Lions Club and a member of the Burlington, IA Kiwanis Club; the Bettendorf VFW and the Masonic Lodge of Farmington, IA.
Kenneth served in the Korean War in 1952 and was a Gunner in the 245th Tank Battalion. After he served his country he attended college at Bradley University in Peoria, IL.
Last but not the least the best day of his life was June 25, 1950 when he married his sweetheart, Joann Adkins Reid in Farmington, IA. They had two children, Kevin Reid and his wife, Rose and Karinda Reid Richard and her husband, Kevin. He also has two of the greatest grandchildren, Joseph and Jared Richard, who he loved very much. He is also survived by his sister, Diane Reid Peterson and friend, Bob; brother-in-law, Roger (Nedra) Adkins and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dr. Richard Reid.
